This is a capstone course for the Future Conflict minor that is focused on innovative solutions to real world problems. The course meets in the SCIF and is taught at the TS/SCI level. The course is capped at 15 and cadets are divided into interdisciplinary teams of three, with no team having more than one representative from any major. Each cadet team receives a single problem from the Pentagon, which they spend the semester working on and developing solutions. At the end of the semester, cadets brief their result back to the sponsoring office in the Pentagon.
The course is modeled after the Combat Air Forces (CAF) Weapons and Tactics Conference (WEPTAC) and USAFA Martinson Honors Program’s Wicked Problems course. Cadets who desire to take this course must have either completed the five-course sequence for the Future Conflict minor or have successfully completed four of the courses and are currently enrolled in the fifth.
