Maj Gen (Ret.) Dave Scott is the U.S. Air Force Academy Foundation’s Senior Advisor to the Institute for Future Conflict. Before his current position, Scott was the Executive Director of Advanced Technology for Effectors, leading all the future advanced kinetic and non-kinetic weapons in the Advanced Effectors Group within Advanced Technology at Raytheon Missiles and Defense, a business of Raytheon Technologies. He joined Raytheon in December 2014 after two years with Merlin RAM Co, LLC as the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of International Programs, along with senior consultant positions with several defense companies. These companies included Boeing, BAE, Lockheed Martin, and Textron.
Before his career in the defense industry, Scott concluded over 34 years in the US Air Force as a Major General. His last assignment was Director of Operations, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration at Ramstein AFB, Germany. His previous assignments include Director, Operational Capability Requirement, Headquarters United States Air Force, and the Chief of the Air Force House Liaison Office, Washington, D.C. He commanded at the squadron, group, and wing level and served in various joint positions throughout Europe and Asia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master’s in Human Resource Management from Valdosta University.
