Harry P. Cintineo, PhD, CSCS,*D is the Human Performance Optimization Fellow for the Institute for Future Conflict and the Directorate of Athletics. In this role, he collaborates with academic departments, military organizations, and Department of Defense agencies to identify and implement strategies that enhance warfighter readiness and resilience. His work focuses on integrating evidence-based human performance principles—including strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, sleep, recovery, and cognitive performance—into cadet education, training, and USAF Academy curriculum.

Dr. Cintineo earned his PhD from the University of South Carolina in 2022 and holds master’s degrees in strength and conditioning and sports nutrition and a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. His research portfolio includes numerous peer-reviewed publications examining human performance in military, law enforcement, and athletic populations, as well as applied work with NCAA Division I sports teams and other athletic populations. Dr. Cintineo has held the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential since 2016, bringing both academic expertise and practical coaching experience to this role, bridging the gap between science and application in high-performance, mission-critical environments.
